CBS Publishers & Distributors Pvt. Ltd., 2005. 3rd edition. Softcover. New. In this edition the general arrangement of the book remains unchanged, but the opportunity has been taken of revising and amplifying certain sections and of redrawing some of the diagrams, Most of the additional matter will be found in the sections on gyroscopic motion, velocity and acceleration diagrams, toothed gearing, epicyclic trains inertia forces in mechanisms and vibrations. The book is largely based on lectures given at the Manchester College of Technology. The lectures cover a period of one hour a week for three sessions. It seemed better, however, not to adhere to the order-followed in the lectures, but to group both the elementary and the more advanced treatments of each section in the same chapter.
