The book also covers topics on linear algebra, vector analysis, and the calculus of variations. This edition includes elementary theory and applications of functions of a complex variable. Keeping the presentation detailed and clear the authors have maintained acceptable standards of precision and accuracy. Many new exercises have been added in this edition, and hints are given in many of the exercises; answers to the odd-numbered ones are also included.
